Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming public health by enabling predictive analytics, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, improving health service delivery, and supporting disease surveillance. In developing countries like Pakistan, AI offers opportunities to optimize healthcare systems, manage limited resources, and improve decision-making processes. However, challenges such as ethical concerns, data privacy, lack of infrastructure, and insufficient technical expertise hinder its effective implementation. This study examines the dual nature of AI in public health—its potential benefits and barriers—while emphasizing the need for strong policy frameworks, training programs, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure equitable and sustainable adoption.
