1. Funding Model

Ma-Hasal maintains its operations through a transparent and sustainable funding system. The journal is financially supported through the following channels:

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Authors pay an APC after acceptance, which helps cover:

  • Editorial handling

  • Double-blind peer review

  • Plagiarism and similarity checks

  • Copyediting and formatting

  • DOI registration

  • Online hosting and archiving

Institutional Support

The Institute of Revival of Language and Literature, as the official publisher, provides administrative, technical, and logistical support to ensure smooth functioning of the journal.

Voluntary Academic Support

Occasional donations from scholars, research organizations, and linguistic groups help strengthen the journal’s open-access initiatives.

Revenue from Printed Copies

Income generated from optional printed issues contributes to printing, distribution, and archiving expenses.

Ma-Hasal maintains full editorial independence and does not accept commercial advertising or funding that could compromise academic integrity.

2. Publication Fees for Authors

Ma-Hasal follows a clear and author-friendly fee policy:

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • PKR 15,000 / USD 60 (after acceptance)

  • Covers editorial management, peer review, typesetting, digital publication, and online platform maintenance.

Submission Fee

  • No submission fee is required.

  • Authors can submit manuscripts through the OJS system at no cost.

Optional Print Copy Charges

  • PKR 2,000 / USD 10 per copy

  • For authors requesting a printed version of the issue containing their article.

Fast-Track Review Service

  • PKR 10,000 / USD 40

  • Ensures an initial editorial decision within 7–10 working days.

  • Fast-track review accelerates processing but does not guarantee acceptance.

3. Waiver & Discount Policy

To encourage wider participation, the journal offers:

  • Student Discount: 50% APC waiver for students with valid proof.

  • Financial Hardship Waivers: Full or partial APC waivers for authors from low-resource regions or without research funding (upon approval).

  • Special Concessions: Reduced fees for invited papers, thematic issues, and collaborative research projects.

Waiver requests should be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.

4. Payment Methods

Authors can pay publication fees via:

  • Bank Transfer (local or international)

  • Easypaisa / JazzCash (for authors in Pakistan)

  • PayPal (for international contributors)

A formal invoice will be issued after acceptance of the manuscript.
