Information for Authors
Thank you for considering Ma-Hasal for your scholarly work. Below, you will find the guidelines and important information for submitting your manuscript to our journal.
1. General Submission Guidelines:

Languages: Manuscripts may be submitted in Urdu, English, Punjabi, Persian, or Arabic. All submitted manuscripts should adhere to the linguistic and grammatical norms of the respective language.

Original Work: All submissions must be original and unpublished, and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscript Format:

The manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
-
The text should be double-spaced with a margin of 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

Use a clear, readable font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point size).
-
Include an abstract (150–250 words) and up to 8 keywords.
-
References should be cited in APA format or as required by the specific section.

2. Types of Submissions:
Ma-Hasal accepts the following types of submissions:

Research Articles: Scholarly work that presents original research in the fields of language, literature, or culture.

Critical Essays: Thoughtful and critical analysis of literary texts, cultural studies, or linguistic issues.

Creative Works: Poems, short stories, essays, or other creative writing in the relevant languages.

Book Reviews: Reviews of recent books in the fields of language, literature, and culture.

Case Studies: Practical and theoretical analyses of specific linguistic or literary phenomena.
3. Submission Process:

Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted via our online submission system. You will be required to create an account in the submission system if you do not have one already.

Peer Review: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and academic integrity of the content. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.
4. Manuscript Structure:
A standard manuscript for Ma-Hasal should include the following sections:

Title Page: Title of the paper, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and corresponding email address.

Abstract: A concise summary of the paper (150-250 words).

Keywords: A list of 4–8 keywords to facilitate search indexing.
-
Main Body: The core content of the manuscript, clearly divided into sections with headings, including Introduction, Literature Review (if applicable), Methodology (for research papers), Analysis, Conclusion, etc.

References: List all references used in the manuscript, following the citation style preferred by the journal (e.g., APA style).
5. Peer Review Process:

Manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review, where both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous to each other. This is done to ensure fairness in the evaluation process.

Review Criteria: Submissions are evaluated based on originality, scholarly contribution, relevance to the field, clarity of writing, and adherence to the journal’s submission guidelines.

Revision: Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscripts based on the reviewers’ comments. Failure to address reviewers’ comments may lead to the rejection of the submission.
6. Copyright and License:

Authors retain copyright of their work but grant Ma-Hasal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and make their article available online.

Articles are published under an open-access model, allowing free access to readers worldwide.
7. Ethical Guidelines:

Authors must adhere to the ethical standards for scholarly publishing. This includes avoiding plagiarism, ensuring proper citation of sources, and adhering to guidelines for the ethical treatment of human subjects (if applicable).

Any conflicts of interest should be disclosed during the submission process.
8. Submission Fee:

Ma-Hasal does not charge authors any submission or publication fees. All submissions are reviewed and published without any financial barrier.
9. Language and Formatting Support:

We encourage authors whose first language is not English to ensure that their submissions are thoroughly proofread to maintain clarity and readability. Manuscripts may be returned for revision if the language quality is inadequate.
10. Author’s Responsibility:

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all the data, quotations, and references provided in their manuscripts.

Authors should ensure that any permissions required for reproducing third-party materials (such as images or long quotations) are obtained and documented.
11. Acceptance and Publication:

Once a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author will be notified and given the necessary instructions regarding publication, including any final revisions, copyediting, and the scheduling of the article for publication.

Articles will be published in the next available issue of Ma-Hasal after final approval.
12. Publication Ethics:

We follow strict publication ethics, as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any unethical behavior, such as plagiarism or falsification of data, will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript and possible reporting to relevant institutions.
13. Special Issues:

Ma-Hasal occasionally publishes special issues on specific themes or topics. Calls for papers for special issues will be announced on the journal’s website and in relevant academic networks.
