Archiving Policy

Purpose
The Ma-Hasal Journal is committed to preserving the integrity, accessibility, and long-term availability of all published content. The archiving policy ensures that scholarly works remain available for future reference, even in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as website failure or journal closure.

Archiving Methods

  1. Digital Preservation

    • All journal content is preserved in a secure digital archive maintained by [specify repository/platform, e.g., PKP Preservation Network, CLOCKSS, or institutional repository]. This ensures redundancy and protection against data loss.
  2. Institutional Backups

    • Copies of all published content are stored on the journal’s institutional servers, with regular backups to prevent accidental data loss.
  3. Third-Party Indexing

    • All articles are indexed in reputable databases, such as [name specific databases, e.g., DOAJ, Scopus, or others], to enhance visibility and ensure preservation beyond the journal's platform.
  4. Print Archiving (if applicable)

    • A limited number of printed copies are archived at the journal’s headquarters and affiliated libraries for historical and preservation purposes.

Open Access Compliance
All archived materials remain accessible under the journal’s open access policy, enabling unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Contingency Planning
In case of the journal's discontinuation:

  • The digital archives will remain accessible through partner organizations or repositories.
  • Authors and stakeholders will be notified about the transfer of archival responsibilities.

Version Control
All versions of the content, including corrections or retractions, are clearly marked and preserved to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

This policy is reviewed periodically to incorporate best practices and advancements in digital preservation.
